A group of podcasters search for the truth about Australia’s very own Bigfoot – The Yowie. They are so close to the breakthrough of a lifetime, but how far are they willing to go?
Squatch Watch: LIVE is a comedic contemporary devised performance and “unfiction” project disguised as a popular podcast’s live show event. The piece invites the audience into the world of the podcasters, who are united by their obsession with the sasquatch legends. After promising jaw-dropping, irrefutable proof of the existence of the Yowie in the local escarpment, all comes to a head when the very pillars of these podcasters’ belief are threatened, right in front of their first live audience.
Squatch Watch: LIVE was developed as a part of Merrigong Theatre Company’s Merrigong X Artist Program, supported through Shopfront Arts Co-op’s Open Shop program, and premiered at Merrigong Theatre Company in 2025.
